How Felix generates your POA&M
- Connect your evidence sources. M365 GCC High, Google Workspace, AWS GovCloud, PreVeil. Read-only OAuth, scoped to compliance evidence.
- Felix maps your evidence to the 110 NIST 800-171 r2 controls. Coverage matrix populated within 60 minutes of connect.
- Gaps surface as POA&M entries. Each entry includes remediation owner, target date, milestones, and required resources. Draft is ready for review in under 90 minutes.
- You approve; Felix tracks weekly. Refresh frequency configurable. Customer-facing audit trail for every change.
The 180-day rule
Conditional CMMC Status is valid for 180 days. Every open POA&M entry must close within that window. Felix tracks the countdown for each entry and surfaces aging risk so nothing slips. No extensions are granted by DoD. Missed deadlines mean re-starting certification.
Want to see what a Felix-generated POA&M looks like? The full 14-page sample lands Q3 2026. Drop your email and we'll send it the day it ships, plus a 3-email POA&M-prep series in the meantime.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a POA&M?
Plan of Action & Milestones: a formal document listing controls you have not yet fully implemented, with planned remediation actions, target dates, responsible parties, and resources required.
How long do I have to complete POA&M items?
Under CMMC 2.0, contractors with Conditional CMMC Status must complete all POAM items within 180 days. After 180 days, completed items convert to Final CMMC Status; incomplete items result in loss of certification. There are no extensions.
Can any control be POAMed?
No. The DoD designated specific POAM-eligible controls. Higher-priority controls (typically those scored at 5 points in NIST 800-171 scoring) generally cannot be POAMed and must be fully implemented before any certification.
How does Felix generate the POA&M?
Felix reads your evidence library, maps each artifact to the relevant NIST 800-171 control, identifies gaps, and drafts a POA&M entry for each gap with a target completion date based on remediation complexity. You review and approve; Felix tracks weekly progress.
Where does the evidence Felix maps come from?
From the systems your team already uses: Microsoft 365 GCC High (audit logs, OneDrive, SharePoint, Entra ID), Google Workspace, AWS GovCloud, PreVeil. Read-only OAuth scoped to compliance evidence. Felix pulls, normalizes, and maps artifacts to NIST 800-171 r2 control IDs.
What happens to my POA&M data if I cancel?
Export everything as PDF (audit-ready format) and CSV (machine-readable) from the export panel before you cancel. After cancellation we keep your data accessible for 90 days, then it's purged. We do NOT delete on cancel, which would be a compliance disaster for a customer mid-C3PAO assessment.
Does the POA&M handle 800-172 enhanced controls for Level 3?
Felix's Level 3 playbook (800-172 enhanced controls) is in private beta, available on the Autopilot tier with a manual provisioning step. General availability planned for Q4 2026. Level 1 (17 practices) and Level 2 (110 NIST 800-171 r2 controls) are GA today across all three tiers.
